Long time lurker with a new tractor

Hello all, long time lurker and researcher here, and as of Saturday, I am now the owner of a 2014 New Holland Workmaster 40 with 237 hours on it, FEL, Land Pride RCR1860, rear hay spear (which I have no use for), and rear tires ballasted. The tractor has some very minor wear and tear and a couple odds and ends to fix. A zerk on one of the FEL arms is missing, the foot throttle cable got snagged by the previous owner last week, so he fixed it in the field and gave me the replacement since it currently idles at 1100 rpm, and it looks like the oil filler cap could use replacing. All very minor things.

There are a couple of additional things I need to find, one being a users manual, preferably in PDF format if possible. Outside of that, I need a box blade and disc for some maintenance and gardening.

All in all, I think for $15,800, I got a steal.

A missing zerk sould make you very nervous about the last time ANY of the joints were greased and other maintenance. There is a tool to unclog zerk fittings thay you'll probably need.

Made me a little nervous, until I saw fresh grease sitting in there. Its been maintained pretty well, the missing zerk happened recently along with the throttle cable.

You certainly did get a STEAL.
I bought a 1988 Ford 1920 FEL last Fall for $9500, with 1056 hours
I just finished an extensive cosmetic rebuild, but I have a bit more than your $ in mine.
It turned out to be one of those little jobs that got way out of (economic) control.
Watchya gonna do when you are into it up to your elbows?
It would seem that you may be in an area where that sort of tractor is relatively common.
I am far from everything that is tractor like.
Included in my total cost is 400 miles of trucking ($1200)........ before I could even began to to fix (EVERYTHING).
I had the bucket rebuilt (it is actually much nicer than a new one), new rims tubes and tires, all new 3pt hitch parts, new seat, etc.,etc, even a new clutch, though I am not certain that it needed one. I took the loader off, and paid a paint shop refinish each part, front and back, plus, the loader, and the tractor body. I did a whole host of other stuff, including all fluids changed, of course.
It REALLY does look like a NEW TRACTOR,......but ..... not one of my smartest economic moves.
Oh well, I'll be 75 next month...so I gave myself an early birthday present!

Suggestion: For your garden ..... you might consider buying a tiller.
I bought a 60" King Kutter, though I have not used it yet. Folks who own them seem to love them.

You can get a manual through your NH dealer or order one on the web via the NH technical publications website. Google "new holland technical publications". Sometimes you can find then on ebay. I'm not sure whether there is a pdf version or if they are hard copy only.
