3-Point Hitch Long 2610 Cat II 3 point hitch

The Long 2610 came with Cat I and Cat II capabilities and I understand I need to turnt he lower link arms around for Category II. BUT, my woods backhoe top link is too large to fit in the small top link receiver on the tractor. It has the four holes and small depth, whereas the backhoe has like a 1" hole and almost a 2"depth to it.

Has anyone used the Cat II set up on these tractors and had any issues with the top link?

I am being told that the entire top bracket needs to come off and be replaced with a solid plate while using the backhoe. Does anyone have any experience with this?
