I checked with a few local dealers to see what was availble. Please tell me if you have any knowledge of any of these. All are 48" Box Blades
Kink Kutter 320lbs. $290.00
Walco 280lbs. $368.00
Bevco 330lbs. $395.00
Southern ?lbs. $450.00
Landpride ?lbs. $525.00
Midwest ?lbs. $?

I can't justify paying the landpride price for the amount of use I wound need. But the KK welds look a little crappy. Have not seen the others.

I thought Southern was a little lightweight for the price. Midwest's are an excellent value but their dealer net is limited. Supposedly you can get their products from a Kioti dealer, if you have one nearby. Of course, they'll be Kioti orange! Have heard king kutter is a good value but have not experience with them personally. First choice is a brand you did not list which has good products for the money, generally.

As far as Midwest goes, any dealer can buy from them. All they have to do is make a call.

As a matter of fact, I just talked to my local JD dealer about Midwest. He said he would place an order for me and charge 10% above his cost.

Have you checked into Frontier through the local John Deere dealers?

I bought my Frontier through the Northfield JD dealer and it's a medium duty 72' Box Blade (628lb's). I'm very happy with it and the quality/weight/strength of the unit seemed to outweigh the price and quality I saw with the other units.

rmonio,
I checked, They did not have one in stock. He qoated me $500.00! Seem high to me, I could get the Midwest deliverd to my door for less than that.

Which unit was it? The unit I purchased - the BB1172 - is medium duty implement. I'd be curious as to which one they quoted you since my unit cost more than the price you mentioned.

Billy,

The only problem with this arrangement is that your shipping costs go way up, since you are paying the full cost of the shipping, and a middle man. Midwest will sell direct to avoid the middle man but the best option is a dealer who is getting a large shipment--to reduce shipping costs.

I didn't get a model number, but it was for a 48" BB.

This is true Jonathan. However, with this arrangement, I can get the implement at dealer cost + 10% + shipping. If I order it direct from Midwest it's retail + shipping. Since dealers markup their implements at least 30%, the 20% I save in, most cases, more than pay for shipping.

Example #1
Midwest RB22-84 (retail)-$308.10
Shipping to OK-$92
Total-$400.10

Example #2
Midwest RB22-84 (dealers cost)-$237
Shipping to OK-$92
10% to dealer-$23.70
Total-$352.70

Midwest sells direct only when there is not a local dealer and they sell at the same price as most the net dealers prices. Also remember that a Kioti dealer is also a Midwest dealer.

Well maybe... I've talked to two dealers and both basically said "We MAY sell them SOMETIME, but this is what we sell... Did not sound very assuring to me, if fact just the opposite.

Billy,

I'm in central OK. What dealer are you working with? I have emailed a couple of dealers out of state but haven't heard anything yet.

Looking for a Midwest BB20-48 and maybe a RB22-60.

Thanks

Gary,

It's the John Deere dealer I bought my tractor from. They are located in DeQueen AR, about 15 miles from me.

Have you asked any of the dealers if they would order from Midwest for you? If they won't, call Midwest directly and talk to Roy. He can give you a price and shipping quote.

When I first started trying to buy a Midwest rear blade, I called them to see where the nearest dealer was located. The nearest dealer is them.

Good luck

I didn't buy a rear blade from Midwest but when I got a quote on a boxblade, their "retail" did not seem that high. Have you gotten a quote from them?

Jonathan, I see you're in Charlottesville, Virginia. You might want to talk to CCI (Mark) about buying Midwest implements. They stock Midwest and are fairly close to you (300 mi).

Hey Billy,

Thanks for thinking of me, but I already purchased my implements from CCI. It was a lovely drive, and I love my implements!

I'm driving down to Midwest this Friday to pick up my BB20-48. About 2 1/2 hrs. from St. Lou. $279.50 as opposed to $512 for the Frontier. Wasn't that hard of a decision.
