SEYMOUR A Jackson County woman sustained arm and abdomen injuries when she was pinned between a tractor and pickup truck Sunday in eastern Jackson County.
About 5 p.m. on Road 1075E, Eric Hilton, 34, and his wife Jennifer Hilton, 29, both of Crothersville, were trying to load a utility tractor onto a trailer that was attached to a pickup truck, according to Jackson County Sheriff痴 Department.
Jennifer Hilton stood on the back bumper of the truck while Eric was backing the tractor onto the trailer.
Eric Hilton shut off the tractor and was releasing its clutch when the tractor suddenly moved backward and over the railing on the trailer, the rear tire pinning Jennifer against the truck.
The tractor became lodged between the trailer and truck.
Jackson County EMS and Seymour Fire Department units responded to the scene.
Firefighters put blocking under the rear wheels of the tractor to keep it from putting more pressure on Jennifer Hilton.
A towing company arrived and used a winch to stabilize the tractor.
Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to cut the railing, allowing the tractor to move enough to free Jennifer Hilton.
She was treated by an EMS crew and transported by a PHI medical helicopter to University of Louisville Hospital. As of 9 p.m., her status was unknown because she was still being evaluated in the emergency department, a spokeswoman said.
The incident is being investigated by Jackson County Sheriff痴 Department.
Seymour Police Department and Redding Fire Department also assisted.
