What are the differences frome the 3 loaders available for the DK45SE HST. Does anyone have any experience with KL451, KL1470, KL1590. Are the loaders curved or coventional.

Thanks

The DK45SE HST uses the new KL401 loader. the ones you mention fit the DK45S, which is really a completely different tractor. The DK45SE is a very nice machine and has the smoothest operating hydrostat that I have driven. You can put the pedal to the floor and the transmission will smoothly transition to the desited drive ratio, not like others where you get whiplash or bog the engine if you give too much pedal too fast.

Basically the 3 digit loaders are the new Korean built loaders, the 4 digit loaders are the older style.

I am a bit confused when it comes to the KL401. Is it a true universal quick attach loader in the same way the skid steers are? For example, I was at the dealership this weekend where I rented an aeretor. They were a dealer for CID implements and they had the following bale spear: Hay Spear

Would this fit the KL401? What is the difference between the single lever quick attach mechanism vs. two lever mechnism because the dealer had never seen the single lever variant as used on the KL401.

The hay spear would fit the KL401 adapter.

The quick attach single lever mechanism works just like the two lever mechanisms, that is not a problem at all.

There is a quirk regarding the KL401 quick attach however. It is narrower than a standard Bobcat style. I believe standard is 44 inches and the Kioti is about 41" or close to that. The mounting holes do line up so you can use any standard skid steer implement but there will be some "slop" on the sides ...almost 2 inches on each side. That does not matter for lifting straight up but when you put a lateral pressure on the implement it may slide to one side. It doesn't technically prevent you from using the implement but it is annoying to then have the implement off center. You can prevent that from happening I suppose by using some sort of spacer but that would be a hassle and I haven't tried it.

One other point: as the Kioti bucket is actually a good fit for the narrow Kioti QA system, it means you cannot use a Kioti QA bucket on a normal skid steer.

So I understand what you are saying and it seems to me that KL401 owners are sh*t out of luck. Why would Kioti market such a unless unit when earlier units seem to work better? Are there any work arounds other than making spacers . . . which I can't do without a lot of leg work. It's crazy that I have a quick attach unit but I really can't go out and buy quick attach implements without considering usability issues.

Not exactly. You may have misunderstood my post. You CAN use any skidsteer implement. I have several that I use all the time without spacers. It would be better if I got around to making up some sort of spacer so the grapple doesn't slide around but it has never fallen off and works just like it should otherwise.

I do think someone at Kioti had a brain fart when they decided to make the adapter smaller than the average skid steer adapter width however. I can see no reason whatsoever for doing that. I'd even consider welding a spacer to my adapter so it fits the standard implements but then I'd not be able to use my own Kioti bucket so that one time solution doesn't work.

No, I think I understand. I just didn't express myself accurately. I just can't get over using a 4 in 1 bucket, spear, etc. that moves left or right constantly. Perhaps I am exagerating and it does move laterally as much as I am letting on but shouldn't Kioti be making some spacers. I mean the DK45/40SE "should" be one of their best selling tractors especially in the landscaping market with the hydro feature and to think that you and I and the next guy have to work up a fix is asinine. Certainly sounds like a brain fart to me. I guess my question for Wallace and the other dealers on the board is, are the aware of it or is simply not an issue worth addressing. Welding some spacers on the adapter, buying and aftermarket bucket, and then binning the Kioti bucket sounds like better idea (more expensive) than keeping the factory bucket. Especially if you forsee yourself using lots of quick attach implements.

The implements don't move around like they are loose. They move/slide when there is lateral pressure put on. One example is when pushing a log at an angle, the force is not directly forwardwards so there is a side pressure and the grapple will slide to the other side then stay there. It's more annoying than functional but I don't doubt that the implement should be more securely held in place as any movement increases the risk (never happened to me) of the adapter breaking free of the implement.

Right, I understand. How much side to side lateral movement are we talking. 2-3 inches side to side? More? It would be nice for Kioti to see the error of their was and fix it. I will mention it to my dealer for kicks and giggles to see their response.

I measured it exactly at one point but I forget what I did with the numbers. The standard is really about 44 inches and I believe the Kioti is about 3 inches less than that. I've never seen a documented industry standard size but clearly it is bigger than the Kioti and is very close to 44 inches. If you look at the QA adapter plates for sale on eBay you'll see that they are all about 44 and a half or so inches so that they will accept a tight fitting 44 inch Bobcat style "standard QA" adapter.
