Greetings,
I have a 1997 L2500 with a LB400 loader sitting nearby. I can't put it back on. I am having trouble with the control. I took the loader off to replace the battery. I think I hooked up the quick disconnects correctly but the colors on the hydraulic control are all faded to one color. I had them marked with a magic marker which is why I think they are correct. Anyone know which connection should go to which end of each cylinder?
This is Wisconsin, so it is cold. I took off and cleaned the ice out of the detent cups like some other posts here have mentioned. Now I can't get the up/down cylinders to contract so they are closed, like they would be in the down position. This means I can't get the lift arms back into the frames. The roll/dump appear to be working correctly. The up has made the cylinders extend all the way out but the down does nothing. When I go to down it sticks there and sometimes goes to dump. Down seemed to be working slowly before so is there some way it could be clogged? How can I check/fix this?
One last one, when digging during the summer it appeared that only one side was lifting. If I caught the blade under something and tried to lift, the tractor would tilt like only one side was working. Is this another clog? How do I clear this?

Thanks for all the help.
Rich.

Wow … You did not pick the best temperature to trouble shoot in /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif.
If I were having these multiple problems I would be tempted to up pin the cylinders and check them out to see that both are indeed working, and that the control valves are ok.

You could reverse the lift hoses, or switch the lift curl hoses to allow you to mount the loader. You then need to get inside out of the cold.

The down problem sounds like your quick coupler is not fully engaged. I hope you find the problem fast OR that you have a heated shop to pull everything into.
Both lift cylinders are tied together so unless you have a bent rod or something else binding things on one side??? You could remove the line from the rod side of the lift cylinder and check oil flow. Man, I’m getting cold just thinking about doing this without a heated work area. Good Luck… KennyV.

If you get one corner of the bucket under a root or something too heavy to lift it will raise the rear wheel off the ground on the opposite corner. Scared heck out of myself a time or 2 that way.

Sounds like that is what you did. If so, that is normal.
