Loader shortage?!

Hi folks. I'm new to tractor owning and I've been reading these boards for the last two months or so. You guys have been quite helpful, unknowingly of course. I finally took the plunge and purchased a TZ24DA with FEL and 54" MMM. Since then I've been waiting over a month for delivery and I'm getting pretty anxious to get out there on it. The local dealer has told me that NH has moved production of FELs to Canada and that they are very backlogged. Has anyone else heard this and do you think quality will suffer? I've gotten so frustrated I've started looking at the classifieds again. Is this a normal waiting time for tractors?

You're not doing too bad yet. I put the deposit on my JD 990 on March 20. It finally came into the dealer last Thursday or Friday but the service dept. was backlogged and they couldn't prep it until Monday this week. During the prep one of the mechanics noticed a small crack in the loader frame and so now I am waiting for a new upright for the loader. It is supposed to be in tomorrow or Friday, so with a bit of luck I will have my machine this weekend. That puts it at 3 months almost to the day! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I've gotten so used to the fact that I'm getting a tractor "sometime in the future" that it will be almost surreal to actually have it sitting in the yard. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I can confirm that loaders for the TZ tractors are big problem a the moment. New Holland sold more of these than they thought they would.

yeah for at least the last 12 years that I have worked with them its been a constant problem. I think the same people doing NH bean counting work for the goverment!
