I have a KL130, no QA. The bucket is attached at its pivot points using lynch pins. When working in brush, the brush pulls the pins out and can cause you to loose a pivot pin. If you don't notice this right a way, you can damage your loader (and the pivot pins are not cheap either). I don't understand why lynch-pins are used here. The rest of the pivot pins use lock nuts. For non-QA loaders, the buckets too should be put on with lock nuts.

Since the pivot pins supplied aren't threaded for a nut, I just wired the lynch pins shut. Buying new threaded pins is too expensive. Anyone else had this problem? Dealers - why don't you bolt the bucket on?

I have seen some dealers that replace the lynch pins with a bolt and locknut. I too have never taken my bucket off and I too have lost a few lynch pins in the brush but never the entire main loader pin, just the clippy thing which is like 29 cents to replace. I have 3 or four spares in my toolbox for just this situation, the same ones are used on the 3ph.

I don't have QA so I remove the pins to switch from bucket to forks. It would be even more of a pain if they were bolted on. Mine have the retaining pins that have the round handle that snaps back over the pin, not the hair clip type pins. Have not lost one yet.

I would love to have QA but can't get myself to spend the $ 900 bucks.

On my CK30 the loader lynch pins are metric(10MM), on the 3 point hitch they are SAE(7/16).

The 7/16" were just a hair big for the metric size holes in the loader pins. However, your statement is accurate in that the front metric size pins will fit in the 3 point hitch, just not the other way around, on my CK30. Yours may be different?

Have I mentioned how much I enjoy cross-referencing from Sae to Metric and back, continually, on an ongoing basis, without fail?

I use those cheapie cable ties to hold them shut, they are strong enough to hold them shut, but weak enough that I can break them open with my hands to take pins out. Then I just put another one on.

Welcome to the fun. If you American guys would catch up and start using metric fittings it'd be so much easier :)

Mith, we have caught up.:D The ultimate answer is here. Sockets sets with SAE and Metric, side by side in perfect harmony. Ideally cross referenced for ease of use. :)

I don't think I'll ever take my bucket off, unless Kioti decides to give me new loader arms for these crappy crackers. Since I'm not holding my breath on that one, I just used soft wire, the kind used to hang drop ceilings. It cuts easy and pulls off with needle nose once cut.

I was able to get the SAE ones in there as I recall. I do remember it being tight though. Maybe there was enough slop.

If the SAE lynch pin didn't fit then I would have gone for a nut and bolt.

Don, I wish I had have got something like that before I learnt how all the sizes compare!
