I didn't mean to start a firestorm or personal attack of Wallace in the run away DK45 thread. I was simply defending myself from what I perceived as unfounded inuendo (sp?). The forum should not be used to attack anyone, including dealers. Though everyone should be allowed to voice their opinion and state true facts, no matter how harsh they may seem. The truth is hurtful sometimes.
It is very frustrating to see posts erased because folks are too thin skinned, even when things get a bit over the top. I just spent almost an hour writing a benign, thoughtful, and articulate response to some of the last posts in that thread trying to clarify my issues and offer calming advise to others who were a bit critical without offering good foundation. But, when i went to post, Bird had closed the thread in the mean time and all my writing was lost! ARGHHH! It would be nice to at least not lose my writing. Anyway, I agree the post should have been closed. But, the writings and any pending writings (like mine) should have been retained. I hate censorship.
Now the loader.... I'm told by the dealer that there are as many as 7 different versions of the KL130 out there and Kioti isn't sure how or if the repair kit will fit all of them. In fact, they know the kit won't fit some. If, after more than a year, Kioti doesn't have their arms around this, will they ever? In the mean time what do they tell us? Answer: nothing. What efforts are the dealers taking to help identify which one's fit or not and why? Have they identified those that the kit will absolutely work on and notified the owners? I don't know. I only know what the dealer tells me, and that's not much these days. It's too bad the whole thing has to percolate to this level to garner attention again.
Now the manual shutoff.... I don't think anyone on this forum knows the facts behind why some machines have the manual fuel shutoff and some don't. Maybe it's cost. Maybe the parts weren't available at time of manufacture. Maybe it's something else altogether. Consumers are allowed to conjecture. That's what this forum is partly for. Dealers, however, are presumed to be experts on the products they sell, and should therefore make it very clear when they are guessing as to why. Else, they just appear defensive. I asked some very pointed questions on this. But, got know answers, which is way better than purporting conjecture as fact.
I do appreciate a dealer that takes the time to talk to us. It says a lot about him/her and their honest conviction for their products. But, doing so means they can expect to be called out by the unhappy as well as the malicious subversive. It's the price of admission. A thick skin is required. I just wish those that have no vested interest in the topic would stop meddling in what is said or not said.
