When we got our TC33D last December I remember thinking that the bungee cord idea looked sort of "mickey mouse" on an $18000 piece of equipment. But the cord has worked well so I went and got a second one to provide additional support.

<font color=blue>I think bending a bracket to save a little smudged paint is "going a little over the edge."</font color=blue>

I would agree with Jim. My TC40D with 17LA does slightly rub but after 350 hrs does not look any worse for the wear (but then I don't shine and wax it after every use either, just once a year).
