I have a LK3054 that i just picked up and it has a KB2375 backhoe on it. What is a good PTO to run this at as i noticed the tractor has a selector for 540/1000.

Thanks

I have the KB2375 bh on my CK30hst. It powered by the tractor hydraulic system/pump. You must have a pto hydraulic pump attached to the rear of your tractor. You can probably use the 1,000rpm setting and save on tractor engine rpm as long as it doesn't lug it down. It might be trial and error until you find what works best. Hopefully somebody with the same set up can help.

yea it has a PTO pump didnt know which would be best to operate it at or what is recommended for it as i dont have a manual for the backhoe attachment yet.

Usually a rear PTO is 540 rpm and 1000 rpm in the middle.

yea it is a 540 spines on the rear but there is a selector lever on the left side that says 1000/540 its currently on 1000 and the pto is still running.

My 2004 CK30hst pto lever can be set at the standard 540 rear pto rpm or with the blocking plate removed, I can have 1,000 rear pto rpm. Some of the older tractors had the option of both. Most American pto attachments use the 540 where I believe European use 1,000. In past posts, some members with rear snowblowers would use the 1,000 pto rpm for light snow falls with a lower, approximately half - 1,300, engine rpm. Less engine power but still did the job. The only concern is that pump probably is rated at 540 max rpm. You wouldn't want to switch to the 1,000 and then raise engine rpm @above 1,300 and spin the pump to fast. There should be a little orange or white colored triangle on your tach matching up to somewhere in the 2,500 - 2,600 rpm numbers. This is the engine rpm for the 540 pto setting to be at actual 540 rpm. You'd have to use half that engine rpm if you have the pto in the 1,000 setting to get actual 540 pto rpm.

I've checked the engine rpm needed for 540 in the 1000 option with a handheld tach and found it to be 1450+/-. I use it for the light snowfalls mentioned; this however has nothing to do with the backhoe operation. For maximum power at the hoe, you must run the engine up to close to 2600 for maximum pump output, but movement is very quick at this throttle setting

My backhoe runs off the tractor hydraulics (no PTO pump)
The backhoe came preset with a 2100 PSI relief valve setting.
I can easily hit the relief at much lower RPM's. So increasing RPM's makes little to no difference in power, only increases the speed of the backhoe
I generally run my backhoe around 2000 RPM for the speed I like.
