LK3054
My new LK3054 (not XS) did not have a seat belt when I got it. Was it supposed to? It's not a real big deal to me, but if it was supposed to have one, I want to get the bits from my dealer. I was surprised that in this age of litigation that it would without!

If your 3054 had a ROPS, then it definitly should have a seat belt. My owners manual is for the 3054, not the XS and it states that "Always use seat belt when the tractor is equipped with ROPS. Never use the seat belt when the tractor is not equipped with a ROPS."

I too can't believe the dealer would let it go out without one. He is exposing himself to a huge liability. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I am trying to instill in my son the true dangers of a tractor buy having him read some of the recent posts and articles about accidents. I told him that the tractor should never move unless the operator is buckled in. He has caught me a few times and reminded me to buckle up too. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif I am glad he is paying attention.

I hope that you are enjoying your Kioti as much as me.

Thanks Richard - I saw that note in the book too, but I've never had a tractor with seatbelts before, so it wasn't foremost in my mind! I got to thinking about it later though, and figured that if I had this thing as long as I plan, my kids may someday use it too, and then I'll have to curb my ways & set a good example too! At least I'll have to make sure no one is watching before I do something stupid /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif. I'll bet the belts are dealer installed, and they missed it - I'll call him tomorrow & get the parts sent over.

The weather is holding things up right now, but I've used it a bit, including trying it on some snow (for which it was overkill!). I'm making some progress on my drainage projects, but I'll have to wait again until I can work on my field again. That last snow soaked it good. I've got 14tons of 2B stone coming on Friday, and hope to start the drainage work on the paddock this weekend. It will be interesting to see gow deep I have to dig to get under the old stone wall - it appears to have been VERY well built! I think there is as much of it underground as there is above.

By the way, its supposed to go down to 18 tonight, & I'm really not in the mood for that anymore /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Thanks - I see now that it is listed as standard equipment on the web site. I guess that settles it! Now for the parts........

Good call. Like you, I plan on handing down the tractor. My step-father had one was used by most of us in the family. You don't really appreciate a tractor until it's not available.

Where is Hereford? I have a brother-in-law in Catawissa and wondered if you were close. Sorry about the cold weather, I can understand being tired of it. We are expecting a storm by mid week. But temp. still reasonable. Nothing compared to the east. May have to move indoors and do some other work. Darn, just have to go to the garage from time to time and admire it.
Regards,

I'm near Allentown, Mapsonus says its about 100mi drive from Catawissa (had to look it up, never heard of it before).

I sent my dealer an email last night, no reply yet - I'll call him after a while.

I'm also looking into getting some tubing to make an alternate exhaust pipe extension. With the older LK3054, you can fold the ROPS, but it doesn't help that much with the exhaust pipe sticking up just as far.

It's supposed to warm up & dry out this week, so I hope to do some work - I'll try to get some pictures this time!

I remember watching my dealer install the seat belt for my CK20HST. I'm sure they all come standard with the ROPS. Just an oversight on their part. Hope you get some seat time again soon. Here in Florida we usually always get one last blast of cold before Easter. It came last night (I hope) but was only around 30. That after having had 80 degree temps a few days. The winter glum will soon be over though and you'll be out "working" that tractor. John

When I picked up my Kioti, the dealer must have told me to wear my seat belt 20 times. Must have been highlighted in the Official Dealer Manual. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I called them today - they were a bit embarresed! In truth, they did put it together for me very quickly, and it appears someone just forgot to put the seat belt kit on. They're sending the parts up. After driving a TO20 for so many years, the thought of seat belts seems kind of funny, although I know they are a worthwhile safety device.

By the way, if you want to see the opposite of "safe", try operating an old Gravely Convertable for a while! I have one with the original snowblower design - guards? What would you want those for? And a big circular saw blade attachment - you just nosed it up to small trees and............! OSHA who?
