Living with your 5045D

Most tractor reviews on this site, or most places, are posted by users who just purchased their tractor. For you folks that have owned a John Deere 5045D (or one of the Pune-made 5 series) for a while how do you like your tractor now? Has it performed to expectations? Have you had very many problems, other than just a few minor ones?

Would you buy the same tractor again?

I have a 5055E I had two problems with my tractor. The loader control valve needed to be replaced, and I had problems with coolant leaks from the get go. I feel that my biggest problem was the inability of the service department to diagnose the problems. I changed dealers, they ran the tractor on a dyno. Under heavy load the head gasket was leaking. Long story short, it's repaired under warranty, and working correctly.
Other than the two problems mentioned, I like the tractor. It's a good size, weight, with ample HP to do what I need to do. It's simple, no computer, or electronics. Good value in my price range. Yes I would buy it again, I was just disappointed with the original service dept.
QC isn't what it used to be on anything. Dealers need to pick up the slack.

I owned mine for 3 years, and no issues at all. None, nada, zip. I would buy one again in a heartbeat! Traded it for a cab tractor and got almost all my money back.
