Hello Yall. Does anyone know of a Company that makes/sells A heavy duty extension cord for a Lincoln 225 Amp Arc Welder. The kind of plug and recepticle like an Electric Stove has? Thanks in advance for the help.

How long do you need?
Lowes, Home Depot, an electrical supply house, etc will have cable and the ends to make one or they may have a premade one. If you only need a few feet, you could get a range cord and add a plug to the end intended to go into the stove.

I had a local electrician make up a 30 foot for me.

If you want an already made one try your local rv store. They have cords rated to 50 amps, but you could make one cheaper.

Although I have an extension cord, I found the easiest way was to add longer cables to the welder, so I didn't have to drag it outside everytime I wanted to use it. I think I added one or two sizes larger in size to the wire and went with 25 feet on the ground and 50 feet on the stinger side. The reason for the difference was I figured if I needed a longer ground, I could just add a piece of angle iron and tack it to whatever I couldn't reach with the shorter ground. You can just add connectors to the existing ones, but I wanted them to not get so warm while I was running the buzz box way past it's duty cycle...
Adding longer cables wasn't hard, but if making up an extension cord taxes your electrical knowledge, then have it done professionally.

Actually in this class of buzzbox welder the manufacturers unilaterally agree that it is preferable NOT to add length to the welding leads, but to instead add length via extension to the supply input feed.

Refer to the Lincoln owners manual for your welder and you will see that you can power your welder welder up to 90+ feet from the breaker panel with 10 gauge wire on a 50 amp breaker and it is even NEC code compliant if you follow all conditions. (Reason why: While 10 guage wire is only suitable for 30 amps continuous load; your welder only has a 20% duty cyle in ranges above where it could potentially draw more than 30 amps).

In short, what you want is at least 10 gauge cord. 10 gauge or 8 gauge cords are available pre-made. Alternatively, you can buy SO, SJ, or SOOW type cord off a bulk reel and make up your own extension cord. It is ctitical that you use suitable type cord for an extension cord and not try to improvise with something like Romex solid wire which is not suitable for repeated bendings that a cord type wire is.

Siince my welder was acquired used, after beiing plugged into 440, I didn't get a manual, nor will have lost anytthhing if it fried tomorrow. However it has been working fine with the oversized extended leads for several years now. My local welding store is the one that sold me the leads, the fittings and suggested I do it.
