:welcome: to TBN! Sounds like you found the right forum to learn more about your Ford 1700 compact tractor. There are several members on here that know small diesels inside and out, they are a wealth of information for sure. I have some experience around Diesels however i haven't gotten deep into one, I attempted a rebuild project but my lack of the proper tools and no one with experience to guide me left it unfinished and i eventually sold it as a project. Glad to have you part of the forum!

Welcome, I can only do routine maintenance, but there are a lot of mechanically knowledgeable TBN members; Soundguy knows a lot about Fords as do others.

Good luck

thanks U. timely manner is the challenge here my new aquaintance. im tryin to beat the rising waters here. i have 1 culvert almost unpassable by my truck. n wun that will go out if the water gits to high. wen it rains here the water supasses the levels of the windshield of a smaller car. so i have to git it up n goin n down the road to higher ground so wunc the water levels go down, after goin up i can fix the road to git back into my place. GOD how i luv florida. goin frum 25 yrs in the desert of nevada then a yr in the tundra of alaska then down to florida. wuts not ta luv... gigl, gigl n grin. i've alredy dun more wirk on this tractor than shoulda called for since i got it back. i thank God everyday i god it back. thank you fur the warm welcome.
lilredfox on the run
it's startin ta rain again

Welcome, I guess your over near Tallahassee, so I'm guessing your catching a good bit of rain from the storm. Good luck and hope you can keep above water.

thanx fur the warm welcom Doug. im wirkin on stayin above water levels. i.e. godda git the tractor goin n to high ground. i'll make a gasket n put the bottom plate back on n fill up the tractor tamarow n see if i dont git lift it. i godda git it to higher ground. i alred have 1 bridge to build til i can dig furra new culvert. then another culverts goin out. wen it rains here at my house, my road washes out. id a been on it if the tractor hadnt a been stolen. tally aint got much fur rain. were gittin the speratic downpoors tho.

Welcome. What's the setup on your 1700? 2wd, 4wd? Does it have a loader or not? Is it running ok or not at all? The 1700, 1710, etc series of tractors are really pretty straightforward to work on. Almost as easy as motorcycles. Definitely simpler than many muscle cars. You'll be able to sort it out.
