Hey ya'll, Great community! The amount of knowledge And wisdom here is inspiring.

I'm looking for my first tractor for our new place here in Arkansas. (No more hurricanes for us!) We have a nicely laid out 27 acres place at the end of the road w/.5 mi. creek frontage. About 22 (7bobttom, 15 with moderate slope) in neglected pasture that need cutting and fertilizing, badly.

I've read quite a bit and stopped in to our only local dealers; Kubota, Montana and yesterday the John Deere place. Though I was mostly looking at the 790, I ended up on the last 4410. It felt and drove great, and believe this, my wife wanted to buy it on the spot. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif what can i say, i'm cautious.

I got a quote:
New, JD 4410 w powerreverse and dual mid scv? 16,230
300x loader 3,470
LX6 cutter 1,800
1067 spreader 695
1072 box blade 675
Imatch hitch 250
TOTAL $23,120

In addition to cutting the machine will see frequent landscaping chores as well as light logging. I'm favoring JD for the local dealer, as well as 2 cousins who are employed with JD in Iowa. Price is a real concern, but I'd prefer to get it right the first time.

If anyone's inclined, i'd be grateful for any feed back on the suitability of this machine or price as well as any other suggestions.

Thanks alot
Ryan

Welcome to TBN. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I have seen several threads on TBN about 300C and 300CX FEL. Here is one. Click Here
Checkout the tread and the PDF file that has JD literature on the loader's.
Hope someone else can comment on price.

Thanks for the welcome Ron and the link. Salesman said $300 in difference between the CX and X. I wonder what most people choose as well as the box width?

Spoke with the dealer this AM with questions including how he came to his numbers on the quote. When pressed he was at a loss to explain. I told him i would like the tractor at cost, less the JD $800 off, plus a discount on the implements. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif This afternoon he offered the package for $21,990. This seems like a great deal relative to the new 3x20 series or even some of the off color tractors for the value, right?
I think.... that this machine will take care of our needs easily.
R4 tires are included, but i'm wondering if I should go with Ag tires instead? Our bottom, bermuda fields look like they might get pretty wet at times.
What do you think? /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Ryan, I have a 4410 ePowerReverser and love it. I got it just about a year ago got one of the last of the 430 loaders. I would not buy a loader that does not easily attach and detach. It doesn't seem like something you might do often, but you will be surprised how often you take it off when it isn't a big deal. When I brush hog back in my woods, I always take off the FEL and put some suitcase weights on the front. I get much better maneuverability that way.

Hey Jeff-up the road!
I thought the 300c/x loaders are quick-park? am i missing something?
What do you think of the deal they're offering me?
Thanks!

I could be wrong, but I thought the 300x was permanently mounted, while the 300cx was the the quick mount.

I had a backhoe in my mix, so it is hard to compare. It sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Without getting my invoice out (and I am not home), it sounds pretty close to the deal I got. Similar situation, too. It was the last 4410 on the dealer's lot as the new 3x20's were starting to come in. They had featured it at a home and garden show, and it still had not sold. I liked the ePR better than eHydro (I know most here won't agree with me on that, but that is why they make both!) , so it was a case of right place at the right time.

So, where in NW AR? I am about 10 miles north of Springfield. We have another active member in your neck of the woods, another just over the border in twister territory, and some other lurkers and semi-regulars from all over our area.

I've pretty much determined to go with the CX, all things considered anyway. Sure wouldn't choose a bolt on, on purpose.
I'm near Jasper, due south of you. Sure love it up here. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Thanks!

Sounds like a good deal.
For FEL work on hard ground. I would prefer the R-4's. For ag work and muddy conditions I would like the Ag tires. I have turf tires for grass cutting and snowplowing. They work great for me. If I had to deal with wet I would put my chains on rear tires. You could do the same with R-4's. If wet is a small portion of your tasks.

Chains on the R-4's! Duh!
Thanks for the idea Ron. I'm thinking the 4's will work best for us.

Ryan, welcome to the forum! I have a 4410 E-Hydro with the 430 loader, R-4's, hydraulic top link, lotsa auxillary lights front and rear, brush guard, skid plates , and double wheel weights. Make sure you get the skid plates. They protect some vunerable wiring underneath from getting damaged(many $ to replace). Also, my Kubota had R-1's and they do a lot better in soft and wet conditions than the R-4's which load up with mud and become racing slicks. For what you are going to use the tractor for the R-1's will work better. Get them loaded before having the machine delivered. In MHO you got a pretty fair deal considering all that you're getting. The only other thought I have is that the next frame size up might be a better fit for the number of acres you're intending to work. The 4410 is a real nice machine and I like mine a lot but I only maintain 5 of my 15 acres with it(beside using it on my construction sites). If you are going to actually work all of your acrage, this machine will take a lot longer than a 4000 series tractor would. The 4000 series also gives you more weight (900 lbs), more ground clearance, more loader lift capacity, a larger Turbo engine, and heavier construction through out. Yeh, also more money but you came here for advice so this is my $.02 worth.
