My ford 4600 has no lights was wondering if I have to remove the fuel tank cover? And which switch is the lights the sliver or yellow one I know the red is the fuel shut off

i sure wouldn't remove the cover just to add a set of lamps.

suggest you trace the wires. never know what's happened since the late 70's.. might have custom wireing done on it!

Sorry I meant the lights aren't working and wondering if I had get behind the cover to see if a wire is off or broken they were working last winter

check power tot he elements. if ya got power.. check ground or the lamp bulbs.

if no power. pull and check fuse in switch and / or supply line.

can do it with cowl in place.

I installed headlamps on my 5000 this weekend. We were able to remove the switch from below. The wiring all looks to be original. The wire leading to the headlamps is yellow. Hope this helps.
