Lifting with backhoe, chains, best way? BX24

I am guessing there may be many ways to do this, but tonight I had to lift a 450# container and I basically used chains rates for well over this with tow hooks. I just clipped them on the backhoe bucket and gently lifted and it seemed to work ok. Is there a smart way to do this, or things definitely not to do? I initially tried this without the FEL on and quickly learned why you need balance So I attached the FEL and all was well, but thought I would ask for guidance here. Thank you

I use "T" hooks that have a grab hook on them. Drill or cut a keyhole slot in each side of the bucket. My bucket has thicker plates on it. If yours does not. good idea to add 1'8" plate where the keyhole goes through.

Option #2 is a larger Keyhole that your chain will pass through and drop into the slot.

I like to lift moderate weight with the bucket, sure makes it easy to move it around and get into position. :thumbsup:

Have a skilled welder weld a 5/16 grab hook to the backside of the bucket just below the linkage. While he is there, have him reinforce the top edge of the loader bucket and weld three hooks to it. Paint the finished product so it looks like a factory job. Don't get weld spatter on the chrome cylinder rods. Removing the buckets before welding is the best approach.:thumbsup:
