Lifting the MMM on a 2210

A friend of mine came and said he had a problem with his 2210; he had thought that my tractor was a 2210, too. His MMM won't lift.

How is it attached to the 3 ph on a 2210? He probably just lost a pin. Is it possible to lose one pin such that the whole deck wouldn't lift? I'd think it's attached to the lift arms at the back end and that one side would lift but not the other of one of them lost its pin. How are the MMMs attached?

Kind of hard to explain without a photo handy, but I'll try.

Looking at the rear of the tractor, look at the left 3 point hitch arm. About half way up that arm, there is an "L" shaped bracket that is attached to linkage that goes toward the front of the tractor just above the rear axle. When you raise the 3 point hitch, the left arm should catch that "L" bracket, and pull the linkage rod. Also be sure he has the spreader bar on the 3 point hitch keeping the arms spread apart.
Just follow that linkage rod forward and you can see where it attaches to the lift mechanism under the center of the tractor forward of the left rear tire.

A common thing with this setup, is that the linkage rod from the 3 point hitch going forward gets bent from improper adjustment. Take a good look at the whole linkage setup.

Looking at the above diagram, part #23 is what is supposed to catch on the left 3 point hitch arm as it is lifted. Part #21 is the rod that goes forward and sometimes will get bent.

I will bet this is the problem. If you take the draw bar off the 3 point hitch, the mower deck will not raise any more. You need to have the draw bar on in order to hold the lift bars spread so they make appropriate contact with the lifting hardware for the Mower deck. Don't ask me how I now this.
