i took out my injecters again because there is a tick tick when @ idle, and found that i had lost a washer/fuel return on # 2 injecter....so got a new washer, seals and injecter seals.Seems to be better, but still there.....could i have burt a piston/rod/lifter by:drool: the fuel not being returned properly,or what.....it is a cub cadet,8354/998 hrs and work a little on 10 acres.....P.I.A,I thought the problem the first time i worked on it could be injecters, but some pretty cool guys on here sent me to a lousy $1.53 govener spring thank you in advance

Have to ask, do you know where you lost the washer? Could it have dropped in the cyclinder?

never really lost it.When we pulled the injecters before, and then reaasembled them,it droped onto the frame and stayed there for a couple of months. When i did it today.....holycrap there it was......just an in a hurry stupid mistake,i was so happy to think all that was wrong was this cheep spring.Just strange that it happened when the other part broke and was repaired that is in the fuel pump assybly.....bosh type, seperate cam and all,so no even the lil part of the spring that broke off, couldnt have gottten to the block.....sounds like a lifter to me.Just strange that it happened when the other problem accured, but i think it was not letting enough fuel to the # 2 cylender, and maybe caused the intake to compress fluid instead of evaust,if that makes sence.See all my post and you can catch up from the beginning....i just joined not long ago....great site man thanx

Hello jerrywane. Just a shot in the dark. When a vibration damper starts to go, they make a ticking sound, then get worse. It's when they start to bang at idle, that you start to get worried. Take your belt off, rotate the damper back and forth. it should be solid. If it moves [the outher from the inner]. It's shot.

Mebby you got a little dirt in the injector when installing the fuel line.
A stuck open or stuck closed injector mimmicks a rod knock.
