Lift won't work on Ford 801 Powermaster

We rebuilt the Hydraulic pump and installed it back on tractor. The lift doesn't work and there is no oil coming out of the drain on top of pump if removed. Do I have air in the system and if so how do I bleed it out and if not what else could be wrong? This is a Ford 801 Powermaster with 4 speed transmission. Thanks for any help.

If you are sure the pump is turning, then you may need to prime it.

You could try about 5 lbs of air in the fill cap to help the fluid get to the pump.

forget the fill cap.. try the dipstick. that and a rubber tipped blowgun SHOULD get it to prime, if there are no other major issues.. like very low oil, clogged suction line, bad orings on suction pipe.. etc..

I will try the Air, the o rings are new. It was suggested that we may have put the plate back in backwards if so that would be from the re-builder pushing the pins all of the way through the plate at time of making the rebuild kit . I don't want to have to take it apart again. Thanks for the help and will let you know

Try filling the pump with fluid and using air again.

Was the engine running, and was the pump turning?

It is not looking good, the pump didn't even throw the oil back at me so probably have to take the pump back apart and try and see if the plate they sent me in the rebuild kit was pressed together wrong. Talked to a mechanic and had recieved two plates the the pins were on the wrong side for the springs.

looks like part of the housing has dissolved on the inside and the new rebuild it the seats crushed or broke so it looks like I need another housing cheep
