I have a 2015 and am thinking about getting a Bale spear for the 3 pt. just wondered if an 500 to 800 pd hay roll could be lifted by my tractor without lifting the front end? I dont have any weights on the front. Also am needing a new fuel filter, what and where can I get one. I only have 15 hrs on my tractor but the filter looks pretty dirty.

Mahindra specs say your 2015 can lift 1400#, if you have a loader I'd put some counter weight in the bucket as insurance.
Buy two fuel filters from your dealer and keep one for a spare. I think they are about $7-8 ea. I haven't found aftermarket filters to fit yet.

If you are going to lift anything significant front ballast is probably a must. I have a 7205 Cub which is the 2015 Mahindra and anything over 500# that hangs out the back a bit will give you a bouncy ride and I have a loader. Those fuel filters are available at NAPA and at most autor parts stores. $6-$8 most places. I would pull the drain plug on that tank and filter the fuel with something that will not pass water. Flush the tank with alcohol and blow it out good with a decent volume of air. Let it set for a while and then replace the fuel refiltering as you do. Those tanks have crap in them from the factory and if they sit in the sun at the dealer they have condensation.

Ok not having ever worked on a tractor, I need details. Filter it with what? and you mean drain all the fuel out? And the alcohol is that rubbing alcohol or something I can get at the gas station? I have a dryer I can blow it out with. And as far a refiltering can I use something like a coffee filter? This is a big undertaking for someone like me.

Sorry I should have been more specific. You definitely need a filter funnel that will not pass water. Mr Funnel is one brand although there are better ones. Go to some of the sites that sell racing equipment and they will have fuel handling stuff. Usually the funnels they have employ a little finer mesh than the Mr F. The Mr. F will do though. Tractor tanks are exposed to the sun and will build condensation when they sit. New machines have been sitting here and there and should be completely drained and flushed with dry gas or rubbing alchohol to get rid of any moisture residue. If your dryer involves heat don't use it. Just use the blower side of a vacuum cleaner. That will work just fine. I would not use any type of paper filters. They will probably break down and make a real mess. You need a filtering fuel funnel now. It will pay for itself and save you headaches down the line. Plan on draining your tank once a year. Water is real bad for injection pumps that depend on the fuel for their lubrication. Mitsubishi is one of those.

The Mahindra site shows the tractor 3 pt lift specs without a loader for 1400#. Your dealer should have weights available for the front if you need them.

If your just changing your filter because it looks dirty its easy to do. Just shut off your valve by the filter, unscrew the collar that holds the filter and pull it off. You may get it by hand, if not, I used a large pair of channel lock pliers. Clean the see through bowl, replace the filter, bowl, and screw the collar back on. Open the valve and cycle your ignition a couple times so the electric pump can prime / refill the fuel bowl, then start the tractor.

On the filter, as I've done this at least a half dozen times with my biodiesel experiments....

1. Put an oil pan or something to catch the extra fuel that will spill on the ground if don't want go onto the grass/dirt/concrete/pavement/gravel.

2. Wear disposable gloves if you don't enjoy the smell of diesel on your hands.

3. As much as you're tempted, don't buy the 'will fit' fuel filter from NAPA. Speaking from experience, the last one I used went on ok, but didn't want to come off. It's the same price if not cheaper when you buy two or more from your dealer.

4. Read the manual to determine the sequence of the bleeder valves to get the air out of the system before you start it back up.

In considering the bale spear for this tractor, remember the published:) lift capacity is from the lift pins on the 3pt. The actual weight seen at those pins will increase as you move rearward with the weight of the bale. Sort of like when you lift a scoop of dirt with a shovel, it is much easier to lift when you hand is close to the blade end of the shovel than if you try to lift from the end of the handle.
