Kioti CK20HST
Was a little supprised,
K120 (CK20) = 1074lb
K130 (Ck30) = 1155lb
Less than 100lb diff.

My Case580 is just to big, I am going to be getting a tractor for general work around My 20 wooded acres - lifting/moving (logs, firewood, large rocks, dirt), roto tilling small garden area's, planting fruit trees (BH).

I was thinking a CK20, but thought a CK30 would give me more lift cap for unloading/moving things.

But it looks like the CK30/35 has less than 100 pounds on the CK20 ??

True, there is only about 10% difference in lift on the loader. But, when you look at other aspects the CK25/30/35's offer more: much heavier translates to more effective digging and better ballast to safely move that 1000 lbs in the bucket. (Also the standard bucket is bigger: 50 vs 60 inch).

Look at the hydraulic pumps: much more gpm on the bigger tractor. This translates to faster implements (BH), and it allows for a bigger (longer) backhoe. As you probably know reach is an important consideration for backhoes. I have a 7.5' hoe and wish it was 9.5' almost every time I use it.

The loader on my CK25 will lift anything it will hold: Heaped high with wet dirt, sand, gravel, and full of stone. I filled mine full of big granite rocks overflowing onto the toothbar, as much as I could fit. Lifted it easily. Same is true on the CK20 probably, though it might require more rear ballast. So unless you're planning on a QA loader where you'll be using forks, spears, etc. or are going to use a muck bucket, lift, isn't the real limiting factor here. Where is has left me wanting is in breakout force, and this is where the weight of the tractor can be helpful. But it's more than capable for the tractor size.

If you are going HST, the 3 ranges of the bigger tractor are also a big plus.

The CK20 is more nimble, and stores and tows easier. Implements will be smaller and therefore less expensive. But, all things considered, it's not as capable as it's big brother. All boils down to do you need/want the extra umph.

I was pondering the same choices when I bought. The advantages of the CK20 just were not primary factors for me: plenty of room to work, seldom towed, ample storage. The CK20 is less money. But, I gave up HST in the CK20 for shuttle in the CK25. Then the price difference wasn't all that much (~$1500). Of course, prices have changed and this may not be so true anymore.

I was always amazed at how much my ck20 could lift. My problem with it was carrying that load to its destination when there was a grade involved. I could move a FULL bucket on level ground with no problem but the HST slowed way down when moving that bucket load up a grade in my driveway. The hydro robbed power on grades. I would go with more HP!

Howdy I have a CK20HST. I have no problem picking up anything and moving it where it needs to go and I live on a hill. Great tractor with lots of power for it's size. You can't go wrong with any size Kioti.

The KL120 and KL130 are pretty close in capacity. You can however fit a Woods loader (forgot the model number) to the CK30 that adds a few hundred pounds to what the KL130 does as I recall. Rick Wallace can explain the details and I know he has put some of the Woods loaders on CK30s.

I never had trouble lifting things with my CK20/KL120. The place where I found a much bigger difference once I upgraded to the DK40se/KL401 was in breakout power. I can now just pop out bushes and trees with a single "grunt" rather than spend many minutes pushing and shoving and pushing and shoving to loosen up a bush enough to get it out with the CK20. Except for large rocks however, the CK did just fine in carting off any amount of brush I could cram into the grapple. Got some pretty big stumps with the CK too. Photos of the CK at work:

I hate to admit it (as a Man),
But I am leaning towards the CK20, because it is so dang cute !

I am not trailering it, storage space is not a problem, But The wife will be using it half of the time, she may not be comfortable on the larger CK25/30,
Tilling small garden spots, mulching, etc.

I loved my CK20 and if I ever decide to downsize I'd skip right over its bigger CK brothers and buy the mighty mite again. It is a very capable tractor. You just have to be comfortable using a 4ft hog and 5ft finish mower. Loader use is pretty much the same as the bigger CKs.

Dang. He's got one in stock. Now I cannot go visit Rick and Amy anymore. I don't trust myself. Hi, my name is IT and I'm a tractorholic.

IT-- I suspect you are no more of a tractorholic than the rest of us. Some folks are just more 'enabled' by having more money.
Bet I see you at the next picnic at R&A's... with a trailer!! :)
I know I am bringing my truck next time. :D
