Hi guys i am new here i am interested what is your oppinion about that.Do you think that the 150 ton dozer can outpull/push the 250 ton loader.Sure the dozer has better traction but as you all know loaders are 4x4(if not better) and the loader(l 2350) has 100 ton advantage over the dozer. What do you think will happen?

D575 will drag the loader with its wheels spinning i think. Pretty good question,it would definitely be interesting to see. :D

It depends on the ratios of the axles, converter and transmission. Some loaders are totally gutless on the wheels and only spin on ice, and be very slow to climb a silage heap. The loaders we build at the company i work, are designed to pull their own weight. We are in the 11 to 18 ton class, a tad bit lighter than 250 ton. But scaled down in the same ratio, yes our 12.5 ton loader will pull off a 7.5 ton dozer, or tracked excavator with ease... it has an 8.7 ton tipload, so it can even carry it when you drive gentle ;)
The competition sells a 16 ton loader with a 3 m3 bucket, but our 16 ton loader often pushes soil boiling over its 4 m3 bucket, at the new extension of the Rotterdam sea port.. :)

I'd say with this weight difference ratio, in all conditions, the benefits of tracks are only for floatation... They wont make up for the difference in traction from sheer weight.. Even if the loader wont pull off the tracked one, the tracked one would never be able to draw the loader back
Some other loaders would just stall in the torque converter.

Well lets not forget that komatsu will be pedal to the metal. Its traction is superb with latest technology allwoing it to move with 1km/h but with extreme power(pushing/pulling)I think that these 2 machines can be quite equal but i also really doubt that the loader will win.It will be either equal or dozer will win.We know that the komatsu can push or pull 250 tons of material this doesnt mean that it wont be able to drag the loader because the loader is on wheels and has far lower traction. For me the understandig of pulling or pushing 250 tons is if so heavy machines is on breaks on and the dozer drags it.

Are you going to be able to answer this question with a video? :p

I'd like to see the chain that can survive that beating!

You may be able to tell by the breakout force in each machine. If they are close, I'd say the dozer has it because breakout for a dozer almost all pushing/pulling force. A loader factors lift and curl into breakout.

it would be interesting to see though!

Lets see a 150 ton dozer has 150 tons of traction, so can it move something heavier than it is? Especially if that something is pushing back. I say the loader wins.

The Komatsu is running around 260 ton of drawbar pull. It also has around 100 square feet of ground contact. You have to put this against the sheer mass of the letourneau which will have less contact area.I couldnt find a rating for drawbar pull for the Letourneau unfortunately. I dont think pure horsepower is going to win, its going to be the one that gets the most power to the ground. I think it would be be a wicked pull. Who has access to both machines to test?:D
