Lenar 254 Starter Installation

Hi, I have a Lenar tractor that I am trying to replace the starter on. Problem is that the starter and the hydraulic pump sit back to back so I can’t get the new starter in. I had to break off the backside of the old starter to shorten it and get it out Now eventhough the new starter is a little shorter than the old it still to long install because of the back end of the hydraulic pump is in the way. Tried taking the hydo pump out but there is no room to reinstall it once the starter is in. Any experience and advice with this is appreciated
