The top hitch disconnected to a rotorvator whilst passing over a stony track the rotator hit the ground and vibrated the tractor violently I stopped the engine quickly but since then I have no electric power to start the engine or turn on any of the accessories. I have checked all the electric connections including the battery and they all appear sound. Has anyone any suggestions as to what I should check to get the machine going again?

I suspect when you turned it off quickly you didn't turn off the pto or take it out of gear or some similar safety item is keeping it from starting.

Thank you for your advice, but unfortunately it has not been the solution. The PTO is definitely disengaged as well as the running gear box but still electric power to anything.

Have you taken a test light to find where you have power to. Make sure every shifter is in neutral and the brakes are locked, to see if you can jump the solonoid. You really need to do some diagnosis.

If jumping the solonoid doesn't work, the problem has to be the battery, battery connections, the starter or starter solonoid. Remember the battery connections have to be checked at both ends of the cables.

have you checked to see if the clutch switch wires are still attached. Mine on my LE304 came unplugged when i was mowing some corn stubble once. Thing was dead in the water till I reattached it.

Thanks for you advice guys,
The clutch wires are connected. Having towed the tractor off the land into a shed I left it overnight, the next evening I was about to try jumping the solenoid but thought I would have another go at starting it with the ignition key.
I turned the key to warm the plugs the warning light came on and there was a loud banging noise from a component at the front of the tractor, so I tried starting the tractor as there was now some electrical power, it started as normal and continues to start after repeated attempts with no problem. However, there is still this loud banging noise when I try warming the plugs before starting. As it was getting dark I will investigate further tomorrow. Any suggestions as to what the banging sound is would be helpful. I think it maybe possibly be a loose connection causing a spark to jump across the gap.
