I found what looks to be a real good offer on Eb*y for a Leinbach landscape rake I'd like to buy. Here's the desscription & pricing. The best part is FREE shipping up to 1,000 miles. :

The LEINBACH LINE landscape rake is built for tough work. It will accurately level, fill, move, smoothly raking soil and crushed stone for seedbeds on small and large jobs. The teeth are spaced 1 inch apart; enabling the operator to remove rock, roots, and undesired debris from finely prepared seedbeds. If desired the 7 forward and 7 reverse positions enable the operator to change the angle of the rake for side delivery.

The sturdy A-frame with the heavy 4 x 4 inch tubular main beam pivots on a grease able 2 inch kingpin. The teeth are designed with one bolt hole for strength and are heat-treated alloy steel, having the right qualities for proper flexing, yet are strong and durable for long wear. A one inch spacer is welded between each tooth to provide for even spacing. This gives control of the size of the material that flows through the teeth however if too much material is moved then every other tooth can be removed.

Optional gauge wheels are available to fit all models

I have a 6' Leinbach rake. I wished I had been smart like Redbug on this forum and bought a 7' because most of the time I like to pull it at an angle. I think the quality is pretty good but I don't think that price is any great deal. I seems when I priced guage wheels they were around 200.

I'd say its good, considering delivery. I think I paid $750.00 for my 7' w/ wheels.

Do you guys find the wheel kit to be useful? I'm on my 2nd landscape rake and never owned a set of wheels. Are they simply for keeping the rake from going too deep?

Get the gauge wheels. I'm pretty sure you'll regret it in the future.. I know I did.

Thanks. $576 delivered to my door seemed pretty cheap. What prices have you been seeing?

Builder, I saw that add yesterday, I am trying to find one used and local but not having much luck so like you looking for best value for my dollar. At any rate read the add again I believe he ships only to a business address. $307 for the wheels seems a bit high, some very good threads on here about making your own for next to nothing. Use key words "rake wheels" , I think that is what I searched with.

I don't have a landscape rake, but back when I was doing some landscaping jobs to put food on the table I bought some Leinbach implements because they looked reasonably well built (definitely not the best quality available) and the price was right. I have to admit that I've been pleasantly surprised at how well my Leinbach equipment has held up. I abused the living heck out of an 84" pulverizer (some call them a gill) and a post hole digger. I bought the PHD for 1 job which required me to dig 5000 holes. I figured if I could keep it together just long enough to finish that job I'd be thrilled. I did twist one 12" auger in half and bought a replacement auger from Danuser (much higher quality PHD, but much more expensive) and finished the job no other problems. Heck, I even used grade 5 bolts in for shear bolts half way through the job because I got tired of constantly changing the broken bolts. Yes, I know, not a good idea and very hard on the gearbox. Higher quality PHD's have slip clutches and are heavier built. I just wanted to get this one job done. After all that, the 'cheapo' Leinbach PHD still works just fine.

I know my experience isn't with the item you are considering, but I just wanted to say that I have been pleasantly surprised with the durability of Leinbach for the buck. I went in not expecting much and ended up with equipment that isn't half bad.

I bought the wheels for mine around $185. I use them all the time. They are really nice for removing snow on my drive way. You can see some pics of them in my poto gallery.
