Rake Leinbach 6' Rake Buy It?

Leinbach 6\' Rake Buy It?

I know of a Leinbach 6' landscape rake of which the owner says was used one time (have not seen it yet, 120mi. away). He wants $300.00 for it. Is it worth the trip to go look at it? Sound like a decent price to me. He had two and sold the other one yesterday. Whaddya think!!

You need a 7 or 8' for your Kubota... the 6' is way too small...

Figure ~~$400-500. for a new 7'... I think Leinbach gives you a lot for the money... good durable design...

Does it have guide wheels? I paid just over $600 for a new one with guide wheels. I believe the wheels were about $250. I am happy with it for my use. Very sturdy and durable.

Yep, It's got guide wheels. I was all set to go in the morning to look and or buy it. But now I have doubts about the width. My bucket is 5' and my wheels are 5'6" I think, it's not here to measure. It's JM's fault he got me thinking about what happens when I angle the rake. Good point!!! Thanks JM

Yes if you angle it hard it won't cover your tire tracks but for the cost including gauge wheels, I would offer $250 and buy it.

Reason being you can sell the rake itself and buy a wider one if needed. Then keep the gauge wheels from the old rake for the new one and your still ahead of the game. Looks like a win win to me.

I use a 6 foot landpride in the woods alot behind my 4310. You wouldn't think that a foot would make that much difference but it sure does. My big rake is just too darn big. So different sizes can be handy to have as well, depending on your use.

My rear wheels are set at 5' -- same as my bucket. The 6' rake can be angled to the first hole and still cover my tracks, but not reach out much beyond the tractor. For my use, that is OK, and I think a bigger one would cause me problems getting around where I need to use it. You just need to decide how you will need to use it. For $300 with guide wheels, though, I would probably snap it up, try it, and resell it for a little more if it didn't do my jobs - just my $.02 /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

$300 w/ gauge wheels is a bargain, I paided $550 for a 7' Leinbach rake, it was used 1 time, ($700 - $800 for the same rake new). I use it all the time, it's a well built unit.
