Just curious if anyone has tried replacing the incandescent bulbs in the work lights on a cabbed LS with LED bulbs. The 862 bulb replacements in LED look plentiful Ebay. Super easy and cheap if they are an improvement.

No idea about a tractor, but I know on some cars if the bulbs don't have resistors, the car *thinks* the bulb is out and flashes fast.

Used some several years ago on a car and got the proper resistance ones to avoid that issue (only needed on turn signal bulbs I think). Decent amount brighter - esp for white ones like the tag light. Other nice thing is a good quality LED replacement is pretty much a lifetime bulb if not damaged or in a leaky housing. They last forever and don't mind shock/vibration.

I had the same problem with putting LED bulbs in our old Benz. Couldn't use them in the signal light circuits. Worked good for backup lights and stop lights.

ok - thanks for the responses. i think I will just swap out the factory lights/housings with 36W CREE LED's. They are pretty cheap. Probably go with one spot and one flood each on the front and back.

I replaced mine as did several others on here. Many good options. Here is the thread on mine.

I just installed new LED headlights on my F150. It is at least twice as bright an white light. I love them.

I wonder if I can do that on my 2016 F1 50?
my truck is 2016. There are several YouTube videos on changing the lights. The LEDs are awesome.

That s because the flasher unit needs resistance to work.
What U need is to measure the resistance of the bulb filament and add an equivalent value resistor in parallel with the LED bulb.
Wattage needs to be addressed so you'll want a wire wound one, like maybe 5 watts.

I added a yellow LID strip across the back of my cab and made it flash in that manner.

Link to the actual ones you got? Is it same as factory lights, just whiter light? I HATE the people who put the HiD kits in regular reflector headlight assemblies and cause all kinds of glare to oncoming drivers. If this upgrade just produces better light without the glare, I would really like that on my 2012 F150 as well. Factory halogen headlights are mediocre at best on it....
