Finally got me a backhoe attachment, arps 730. I have never taken a valve body apart and have some questions. I have two caps on one side of the body that is leaking fluid. I am assuming that the caps have o-rings under them that have gone bad. I dont know. If I take them off is there anything to look out for that might fall out?

Some picture would be nice.

Caps are usually on the bottom of the valve for the extra functions of a valve, If there is fluid in them, then the spools maybe leaking.

If a plug is leaking, it just might be an o-ring.

Some fittings also use o-rings, and some fittings use Teflon paste on NPT threads to seal or Loctite blue.

Sorry for my stupidity, the fluid is coming from above the bolts, I should have put my glasses on and gotten a good light. Here are some pictures. Thanks for the reply. This hoe has been setting for a year, I used it today and the leaks are not as bad except on one of them. I know nothing about hydraulics but am a fast leaner.
