My BX1800 has developed a oil leak around the rear oil seal. Just poking around it doesn't look like it would be too much trouble to change, especially since the engine sits backward.

Has anyone ever had to change one before. Just looking for tips.

how many hours on the tractor before the seal failed?

Just turned 600 last week, started leaking last week too. I've always serviced the engine oil at 50hr intervals with a Wix filter and Rotella 15w40.

Here are what i use for filters... I like purolator, but you can cross reference for others... switched to the p before the oil filters p/n for the pureone filters instead of the regular oil filter.

As I look at this closer, my fear is that I'll need a special tool to pull the oil seal. Doesn't look like a generic seal puller will work.

Anyone know if a Kubota special oil seal puller will be required.

I dont think you need a special tool to remove the seal. I do think you will need a tool to reinstall the seal and a sleave behind the seal.
