I discovered yesterday that my 4300 leaks a decent amount of oil out the quick couplings when the loader is removed. I had the joystick locked, but it still leaked. It's an occasional drip, but it drips right on the mower deck. Is this common. Are my couplings shot?

Quick couplers to the loader on my 2030 also leak, so bad I have to have a drip pan on the floor. Since I bought the loader used, I thought it was worn out couplers. I replaced all four with new from Deere, still leaks.

I'm talking about the couplers on the tractor side. Interesting that your new couplers even leak. Hmmm.

Don't get any leakage out of my 4300 couplings.
Is it all four, or just one? I'd be replacing if me, as I'd find that annoying.

At least 3 out of 4.

It's a bit of a messy operation, but you need to clean the inside of those couplers.
There is a ball in the center of the couplings that is spring loaded - holds the ball outward to seat and seal.

More than likely there is a little dirt where the ball seats - had this happen a time or two before myself.

First, take a clean rag and clean the inside of the coupler the best you can. Then put the rag on the end of a large screwdriver and push in on the balls a couple times. When you do this you will leak some more fluid but it won't be under pressure. Clean the coupler again with the rag.

Sometimes I had to do this procedure a couple times before it stopped leaking. All it takes is a small amount of dirt/grit to get between the ball and the seat.

Can also be a bit of rust forming around the seat of the ball.
Once you've got the cleaned up get some caps from your dealer and put the on when ever the loader is off, always making sure the cap is clean before you put it on.

Best thing we have found to clean scvs is a bolt to press the check ball in then drown it with brake cleaner
