I have a JD 2020 gas tractor that has a power steering pump bolted to the front of the engine . It has started leaking hyd. fluid into the crankcase. it has a closed hyd. system. can I use a flow divider to eliminate the steering pump?
thanks

It might end up easier to just reseal the OC pump!!!!!!!!!!!

I just checked JDparts and the housing(MARKED T25295) is the same for both OC & CC steering as are the control valves(AR81610) BUT the o-ring/seal kits for OC & CC are totally different part numbers(AT25588 for OC vs AT315816 for CC) . It's been many years since I was a JD dealer service manager and I trying to remember how the return oil circuit was on both systems. I think the return oil routes back to sump via the clutch housing. If you change over to CC operation for power steering one will need to re-route the return oil as OC valve on CC system causes hyd to heat and frt hyd pump to cavitate(run out of oil). Maybe someone can post oil schematics for both systems from a JD 2020 tech manual.

thanks for the reply
I tried resealing and it didn't work .The pump is to far gone.
where would I have to re route the return oil to?

Sorry but I can't answer your oil routing question without a JD tech manual hyd oil schematic.
