I have a bad leak at the inside of my right rear wheel. Obviously just a seal, O-ring, gasket, or whatever is supposed to hold it in, right? The local John Deere shop says it will probably be $4-500 to fix it... seems high to replace a seal.... what do you think? Is it that tough a job?

2nd, I'm wondering if I caused this leak by using the FEL to jack up the front of the tractor to remove a flat tire on the front. I left it overnight, and next morning the wheel was on the ground. I suspect that's a big no-no... right?

Rookie tractor owner with a lot to learn! Experience is costly.

thanks,
Mitch

you don't say what tractor. I have a 3036e (same as 3038e but UK spec) and one of the seals has gone at the top of the front wheel hub casting too. Its only done 315 hours. I saw on the JD website that of seven reviews, 3 posted the same problem - some have had the issue multiple times. Parts are about $120 here, and it doesn't look like a big job.
