Leaking connector BH-90

This is a first time problem for me. The quick disconnect for the hydraulic line to the BH-90 is leaking! It seems to be leaking right through the connection around the ball bearings. When the tractor is running, I get about one drip every 2 seconds. It's enough to make me worry. I wonder if this is covered under warranty or is there a fix or adjustment? I am assuming the female side of the connector is the problem? How should I approach this problem? Warranty? Repair? Replace connector? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Better yet, tell wife it's really bad and I need to upgrade to a bigger tractor? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The tractor L4330 with BH-90 has 120hrs on it.

Joe, worst case this is not a big deal...rest easy.

Split the quick disconnect and look at the o-ring inside the female end. Is it there? Is it seated properly? Does it have a cut in it?

You may just have to set the o-ring back in the grove inside the female end. If you find it is damaged you may have to replace it.

The absolute worst case would be having to replace the female/male or both parts of the quick disconnect. I doubt you will have to do this, but if the tractor is under warranty, it should not be an issue, and if the warranty is expired, it should not break the bank.

Take a look inside the female half and see what you find...

That was it... I pulled the O-ring out and it looked fine. So, I cleaned the o-ring seat and noticed a small chip (Half the size of a BB) out of the metal on the edge of the o-ring seat. So, I put everything back together and NO LEAK! I think the small piece of metal from the chip may have been lodged around the o-ring? I really expected to still have a leak after seeing the small chip...
