I went into the barn yesterday and my LB1914 was making a clicking noise. It sounds like it is coming from behind the dash area and sounds like a relay or turn signal clicking. Two day ago it was not making this noise, so not sure when it started. I checked all the light switches and nothing had been moved. All systems seem to be functioning properly. The only way to get the clicking to stop was to disconnect the battery. To shut down this tractor you have to manually pull a knob, nothing electronic. If a relay fails, would it start clicking like this? Maybe a mouse chewed through a wire? I am going to have to remove the plastic below the dash area to get to the noise. I was hoping maybe someone had a similar problem and could tell me what is going on. Thanks.

Does the tractor have an older style hour meter? Non digital.

I had the same thing happen on my LK2554. It was the emergency flasher. I don't road it so I removed the fuse. Problem solved.

If you suspect rodents, it's real easy to remove the dash cluster (4 screws?). There's a nice void back there full of wires. There also access for the rodents on the gap between the fuel tank and side sheet metal. To take it all the way off unhook the tach cable and maybe 4-5 connectors. I had to do this all the time on my old LB1914 due to rodent damage.

Thanks for the replies. No, it does not have a digital hour meter. I hooked the battery up today to try and figure out where the sound was coming from and the darn thing wouldn't make a noise. I will pull the dash just to make sure there is no rodent damage and also pull the fuse for the emergency flashers. I will let you know what I find out.

A relay is about the only thing I can think of that would be clicking behind the dash. But....it's pretty hard to diagnose if it doesn't click all the time. Please post back with your results if you ever figure out what it was.

I left my CK20 sitting in the back yard one day and went somewhere for a couple days. Neighbor called and said he was hearing a loud clicking noise from it. When I got home the flasher switch was on but the lights were not flashing. The battery wasn't run down either. Turned it off and clicking stopped. I know you said you checked the switches but you might do as K51wq and remove the fuse unless roading it. Others have posted about hearing the same noise and it was always the flashers.

I finally got into the dash today. Huge mouse nest is what I found. Not sure if that was responsible for the clicking sound. Didn't see any exposed wires but it could be anywhere. I still have the fuse pulled, will need to put that back in and see what happens.

I am surprised you did not see any chewed wires. Thanks for the update!

Get more aggressive on rodent control. I would be away from my old LB1914 for weeks and a rat chewed through many of those wires. They have access going up either side of the gas tank. This old shed had pony biscuits from the previous owner who kept a few horses. The rat took them during the winter and piled them above that area I kid you not. I had to repair a bunch of wires twice until I finally traded it. I would take the dash out every time I would leave the property.
