The main advantage of a sleeved cylinder I believe is ease of rebuilding down the road, that way you just put a new sleeve in and use standard size pistons and rings. But the reason that Kioti did away with them was because it just wasn't cost effective anymore. And by cost effective I mean for the customer. It is actually cheaper to replace a Kioti engine than to rebuild, and you get more bang for your buck with a new vs rebuilding your engine. With a new Kioti engine you complete engine, head, also get a new injection pump, and a flywheel. Basically all you have to do is switch over your alt, starter hook everything back up and you are good to go. We have sold several of the LB1914 engines. One guy I remember him saying his engine had about 5,000 hours on the meter when I asked, but stated his meter had not been working for the past couple years. He said he used the tractor daily in a house arena. No telling how many more hours it could have on it.
