Over the summer I have been busy with my construction project. I'm building a garage that has a block stem wall that will be 3 layers above slab. The basic size is 28x40 with a 12x12 'storm' room. The questions;
1) How cold can it get before it affects mortar mix? I'm using 'S' Type cement mixed 3 to 1. My information is as long as it's above freezing during mixing. Not sure what happens if temps 40 during the day and drop in 20's at night. Opinions?
2) I plan on covering the top of blocks with treated 2x8 but not 100% done. What should be done if anything to prevent rain or moisture from getting inside the block and freezing causing cracking?
Just like to say this group has been an great inspiration to my projects.
Now some photos with tractors to keep everyone happy
