Lawrimore trailers?

Anyone own one? (besides me)

There's a couple new Massey Ferguson 583's on the way for my mowing business. They were going to be quite a load on the old Ridgeline 14,000gvwr gooseneck. So, there's a 20,000 Corn Pro gooseneck on the way too.

But that poses a problem. The Corn Pro trailer is a bit over-kill for hauling my MF150. I'm hoping to hit a few antique tractor shows this summer. I'd also like to put a topper on the back of the Dodge I drive. That means a bumper pull trailer.

So, I picked this'n up yesterday. Lawrimore 12,000 gvwr, 18' deck, 2' dovetail, 83-1/2" between fenders, all the bells and whistles. It tows good, balances well with the 150 on board, and was priced right.

$2700+ state tax (6%) Included the spare tire/wheel, and a 12,000 rated 2-5/16" ball and insert for the class iv receiver I already had on the truck.

FWJ, Lawrimore trailers are built in Falkville Al. Pretty close to where I live. They sell them off of I65 right next to Freedom Axle that builds their axles. Lone Wolf trailer is on the other side of the axle place. I have a few friends that have them. I by from Lone Wolf because I know some people that work there. I have a similar trailer that cost a little more. It is 83"x22' with self cleaning dove and 6k axles. JC

Sorry to say I looked at some Lawrimore trailers and was not impressed. Very poor painting with the underside not painted at all! Then while I was looking at the dealer a truckload of them arrived and several had framing members with broken welds hanging loose just from transit on the truck They were priced well below the competition but I saw why.
I ran as fast as I could at that point, but I do hope yours is better

Hmmm. The dealer where I bought this trailer had over 50 different Lawrimore trailers in stock. The paint quality on ALL the Lawrimore trailers I saw was better than ANY trailers I've ever seen. Every square inch of metal has a good, deep coat of paint, even underneath where you have to crawl under to see. Welds look as professional as any I've seen on all the different brands of trailers I've looked at. Design and strength of material rivals any trailer I've every seen or owned Not sure what you saw, but the reason why I bought this trailer is the quality of workmanship. They are priced COMPETITIVELY, but not well below. In fact, several other "name brands" I looked at were a good bit cheaper.

I was surprised at them too. Do they have a lower end line maybe? The dealer I was at seemed shady, in fact he was putting used tires and rims on new trailers to sell. In case you didn't know that is a federal offense, I kid you not. I told the dealer so and he just laughed. Not someone I wanted to do business with.

ALL the Lawrimore trailers I saw were shipped from the factory with NEW tires, and rims. Anything over 10,000gvwr comes with matching spare tire/wheel included in list price. Mine has Load range E radials. They have various models, but no "discount line" that I'm aware of, or that's listed on their website.

I've owned several trailers. Bumper pull and goosenecks. I currently own a Featherlight car trailer, still own one Ridgline and a Corn Pro gooseneck. I won't buy a low grade trailer. It's a saftey consideration. This trailer I just bought would stand toe to toe with ANY brand I've seen for quality, workmanship, material and design. This one even has an electrostatic paint coating.

I'm not sure what your "shadey dealer" was selling, but I'd suspect it wasn't anything built under the same roof as what I just pulled home.

The dealer where I bought my trailer made me aware of a custom builder in my area that replicated the Lawrimore model I bought. The "bootleg" models sell cheaper but aren't anywhere near the quality.

I have a Lawrimore trailer. It is 6.5ft wide x 16ft long tandem axle (7000GVW) with one brake axle. It serves me fine for hauling my 4 wheeler and Kawasaki mule. I have had it for almost ten years. Back then they didn't use pressure treated wood for the deck and of course it's been replaced. The wiring was also poorly done and it had to be replaced with wiring in a protective sleeve and the underside was unpainted. I'm sure their quality has improved. Overall, the trailer is fine for what I use it for. For towing my skidsteer and tractor I use my All-Pro trailer that I picked up at the factory in Fl. Even though it is only a 10,000 GVW trailer, it is built like a tank, and came standard with brakes on both axles. I couldn't be more pleased with it. If you're in KY look at the Gator Made trailers, they seem to be of good quality, I think they're made in Somerset.

Yeah they were shipped with new tires and rims but like I said the dealer was putting used ones on them to sell.
He was keeping the new ones to sell seperately. Cheesy indeed.

They had Lawrimore stickers on them..<shrug>

You are defensive of your trailer, and understandably so. I'm just telling what I saw, maybe they've improved, I don't know.
