Tractor
John Deer 318
Hi all I have a deere 318, with snow blower. My previous before the 318 tractor was an LT160 ran for ten years. Great little tractor sold it to a guy who was going to rebuilt it.
Love the tractor (318) but i have not been able to cut my grass this year due to the mule drive shreadding belts. Even bought an ax. hydraulics new mule drive and no luck.

SO I am off to the dealer today to look at a few models. (I have two deere dealers near me, and one Kobota and one Husqvarna). I like both deere dealers and the Husqvarna but have not ever dealt with the Kobota one.

I am looking at consumer reports and they have three well reviewed deeres.

The s240 Sport (no snowblower attachment, so I would have to keep the 318 for snowblowing).

or

x350, has snowblower attachment I could trade in the 318 or sell it. (318 only has 600 hours and I added an electronic fuel pump).

or
x310 has the snowblower attachment.

My must haves are a bagger, 42-48'' deck. Are there any Husqvarna or Kobota tractors that I can compare to the above?
any help would be appreciated.
I mow slight hills, nothing that would tip me over. And the yard is 2-3 acres the other 20 acres we own is wooded.
Thanks!!!

You'd be looking at the Kubota T series for a competitive model with the JD X300 series. However, I don't remember seeing anything smaller than a BX at my Kubota dealer.

My opinion, if you want to bag, get a blower. I have one on my x324, the chute never clogs even with wet tall grass. The chute will fill up due to operator inattention, but at that point the bags and lid are stuffed tight. Best option I added on my JD lawn tractor.

Just wanted to thank you all for the help. I was going back and forth from the s204 to the 1023e to the x350.
Price wise won out.
The s204 is a mower my wife can use and I am keeping my deere 318 for the snow blower I have on it. I may get a bucket for it.
One day Ill get a bigger tractor just cannot afford it, justify it yes :)
It should be here next week and I will be able to cut my grass for the first time this year. Ps got the bagger too.

Anything bigger than a 42inch cut mower needs a blower on it. IMO

To the OP, Pics of the new mower and the bagger would be appreciated, and if you don't mind, what you paid for each.
Thanks,

As soon as I get it Ill post it.
Garrett, it only comes with a 42'' which is why I was thinking of moving up.
But I realized the lt 160 that I had for 14 years was a 42'' too.
Paid 2499-200(deere promotion) plus 349 for bagger plus 6% tax (158.88), for a total of 2806.88 Since I didn't trade in my 318 so I took the 4.9% financing through deere (ill have it paid off real early). Includes free deliver from the dealer.
