I finally got tired of bouncing over all of the mole trails/hills and uneven areas around our place. So, last weekend I picked up a tow behind 4 ft lawn roller from the local TSC. Steel. Big. A man's roller. Fully loaded with water, it's supposed to weigh in just under 1,000 lbs. Last night after supper I filled it, hooked it to the B7100 and was totally amazed. I guess when you stop and think about it, a 1,000 pounds is no match for some mole trails and bumps and waves in moderately soft ground. I was flattening everything in sight. I figure a couple of times over the whole 5 acres of yard dragging the roller this spring while I'm mowing and instead of bouncing around while cutting the grass it'll be like driving a Lincoln down the Interstate. Just need to figure out how to be able to listen to good ole' fashioned rock & roll with ear plugs in. Who-ahh!!!

bpence, I have the same roller that you have. It certainly does a great job. I only wish that it was available in a 5ft. width to cover ground more quickly. As far as listening to rock and roll, try a set of yard phones from Northern Tool. They give you hearing protection and the ability to listen to your radio, tape player, or CD. Have fun.

If you time it right with the ground moisture being on the slight moist side it works even better. It is a very fine line, too moist and you have traction problems and get ridges fron the edge of the roller. You roll your lawn for a few years and you will have a lawn as smooth as a baby botto (provided the baby doesn't have diaper rash /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif).

I've got the same roller and pull it with a JD 318 garden tractor. Gives it one heck of a work out in the hills!
