Got 1 acre I want to turn into lawn. Property has medium underbrush with a large amount of stumps and 1 to 2 inch saplings. Plan to dig/grind stumps prior to any tractor work(Mahindra 2015HST). What is the best method to remove saplings and the recommended steps to prepare the land for seeding?ie: plowing/harrowing/tilling/dragging. Thanks.

1 to 2 inch saplings I'd just chain them to the hooks on the FEL and lift them out of the ground, then you have no problem with grading for the lawn. To plant the lawn, I'd roundup, disk, wait several days for regrowth and disk again. Drag to level the seedbed, seed then lightly drag again. Then water, water and water.

No matter how carefully you prepare the soil you will get weeds so plan ondoing a weed control spraying after the lawn has been in for 3 months or so.
