I All
Thought i would share with you all my latest project.
It all started with the obvious issue of needing a loader to move stuff around, i spent alot of time planning a loader build for the B6000, which would have been a cool project but ended up looking at skid steers. I found a Bobcat M371 over a year ago at an auction but it went far beyond the price i would pay for it. But decided that was the sought of unit i wanted.
So recently it got the better of me and i put a post on a Facebook site wanting a small skid steer with a picture of a 310.
A bloke replied saying he had one like in the picture, he sent me a picture of a 310 and said it had a 'drive issue'. After all of my previous research i knew it was more than likely an issue with the 12v clutch. So we hit the road and took the 5 hour treck to Melbourne to find this little gem, didnt see it running but i knew it would. We winched it on the trailer, handed over some cash and drove out the gate, wife then asks, so what do you think? I replied that i would drive it off the trailer.
I then got that look to say your an idiot!
Got it home late that night, straight into it first thing the next day.
The bolt that holds the slow speed clutch on the crankshaft had come loose, which in turn made the clutch come loose, eventually breaking the holding tab, then a wire and thats where it all would have ended.
So with the help of a mate we fixed the clutch and refitted it.
Then onto the engine, there was no spark, got that soughted and drove it off the trailer to the obvious surprise of the wife!

This machine was imported into Australia about 9/10 years ago, it came from minesota beforehand. Its in pretty good condition for its age, came with a 42" dirt bucket and a 54" snow bucket (i cant see it ever handling snow again)

Yep, i cant wait to get in to some decent jobs with it. Ive already made some forks just havent painted them yet but its surprising what it will lift. I like building gear so i have been planning a grapple as well, i build all of my stuff out of scrap from work. The other thing i really would like to make first is a pirana tooth bar, but welded on the bucket.

I must say your loader is pretty cool have looked at it many times as an idea to build something

I have never used a piranha tooth bar, my Bobcat bucket has bolt on teeth:

I've never used a Piranha bar either. I have a tooth bar on the tractor and a toothed bucket on the Kubota SVL. They're both huge improvements over the straight bucket for most task.

Ok, so guys fire your opinions at me, the reason i lole the piranha style is that i still have a flat bucket, but will be better for digging as well as pushing scrub if i need to.

Normal teeth dont leave a flat surface, and i dont think are as flexible. My experience is only with toothed buckets.
Ive never physically seen a piranha bar, just like the principal

Just in case someone doesn't know what a piranha tooth bar is:
