Will a landscape rake remove the weeds in gravel driveway Vs having to spray them? Looking for a solution that will do some minor grading/ cultivating and weed control all in one pass. I am not a big fan of chemical weed control.

Would the ETA rake be better choice Vs King Kutter for some thing like this? I.e. weight, tooth quality, angle adjustment, etc.

TIA

Yes a Landscape Rake will drag out most weed type vegetation, which will die if it dries out. Pasture and native grass you will have to spray with Glycophosphate/Roundup to eradicate.

A Landscape Rake will do minor grading; they can be used to both remove and restore road crowns.

( If you own a disc harrow and chop the dirt first, you can accomplish heavier grading.)

Landscape Rakes are NOT typically used for crop/garden Cultivation.

You need to purchase a Landscape Rake approximately 12" wider than your rear tire width as they are used on an angle more often than not.

I have an ETA 72" Landscape Rake, 337 pounds, it is excellent. Tines very strong, yet resilient.

I am not enamored with ETA's Landscape Rake gauge wheel assemblies, which are made in India. Though greased and carefully adjusted, gauge wheels do not castor and follow tractor as well as I think they should. The axles seem to attract vines, twigs and twine which have to be cut and pulled out periodically. Gauge wheel assemblies NOT up to the quality of the rake itself.

I like to see more "swivel lead" than that wheel has. More lead will let it swivel easier and follow better, in my experience. I've had to replace several sets on shop equipment to make them work right. Never had a problem if the vertical stem or pivot was near the front of the wheel.

On your rake, more lead might require a longer mounting arm so the wheel won't hit the tines in reverse.

BCP: I agree with you. I think short swivel lead is the reason they do not track the tractor reluctantly.

If I descend from tractor and set gauge wheels by hand to track tractor, the wheels continue to track OK.

To castor in dirt, relying on tractor forward motion, the swivel lead should be greater.

I think it would be perfect for weed control on gravel roads, and at the same time smooth everything out. I didn't opt for the wheels on mine, not sure why one would need them. Also, quality is far superior to other dealer brands. This is one beefy rake.
