After going back and re-reading my last post. One thing I can recommend for the auger bolt, is to use a softer grade bolt. Like a grade 2 bolt instead of the grade 5. I did that on mine when I popped the first one. The first time I popped the grade 5, it sounds like a gun going off. The time I popped the grade 2, it sound like a normal "clunk" and of course the auger stopped turning. (Don't even ask what I was doing... it was pure stupidity).

Higher grade bolts can be more brittle than lower grade. They will cleanly break. Softer will often bend & deform as they break, which makes them hard to get out of the hole.
Always use the OEM recommended grade & size for proper protection unless you really know better.

I tested the difference between a #2 and a #5 this afternoon on my own snow blower. I attached it to my tractor, then using a pry bar, I turned the auger and snapped the #2. I then repeated the same test with the #5, and I struggled a lot before it gave up. Both bolts sheared off cleanly. I clearly see (physically feel too) why I want a #2 after testing it, just saves wear and tear on the gear box if you hit something.

Plus when mine broke, I looked at the head.
Don't get me wrong, replacing it with a grade 5 will be fine, I'm sure, but I just didn't like the sound of a grade 5 breaking to begin with. After doing the "punishment" test, I just don't feel comfortable with using a treated bolt.
My wear bar looks OK after several years of driveway abuse.

I put a cutting edge on my Luck Now blower a few years ago. For high use on pavement I would want high carbon steel to protect the blower housing. That said, I installed the cutting edge to provide scraping and to keep the blower from riding up on compacted snow. I have some over sized skid shoes that keep the edge about 1/4” off the pavement.
It appears the Land Pride “wear bar” is a flat piece of steel and not a typical angled cutting edge. If the housing is substantial, and your use light to moderate, you could probably skip the wear bar. JMHO...
