Are the LandPride rotary cutters any good or should I opt for another brand - Woods, Bush Hog, etc.? I'm interested in a 6' cutter for a steep mountain property & also some flat farmland overgrown fields. This would be going on a MX5200 or 5800 and I don't think I want a real light duty cutter, something that can cut up to 2" I'm guessing. Seems that the LPs are roughly 1/2 the weight of the Bush Hog cutters...

How much weight can your 3 point handle? You might need some front weights to help hold the front wheels down if you have a really heavy mower, especially on steep ground

That's a very good point. I was thinking thicker & beefier cutter was better (& prob. is for flat farmland) but I'm not sure what the MX5200 or 5800 3 point can handle on steep grade.

I have a 6'Landpride on my L4240 and a 5' Bush-Hog branded used on the L4240&L3000DT;both have been very good.The Bush-Hog is a shear pin model purchased in 2004 with my past L3130 and probably has 1,000 hours on it,with no problems.The LP is a slip clutch and works well(service every spring).

I have been running a Land Pride RCR2672 first behind a L5030HSTC then L5740HSTC and routinely use it on steep hills, pond levies etc. and it has cut 3" and a bit over and is, in my opinion as good as Woods or Bush Hog, we also use a Woods DS1260 on our M8540. I've heard Brown are better, but I couldn't afford the price.

The RCR2672 weighs 1100 pounds and I have to leave the FEL on in hills, but it does fine on flat land.

Land Pride is an A-/B+ rotary mower supplier.

Woods and Bush Hog are the industry leaders.

Yes, this is a generalization, but the knowledgeable will agree that LandPride mowers are a bit lighter and not quite up to the latest design standards of Woods and Bush Hog but they are also a bit less expensive than comparable models from Woods or Bush Hog.

Land Pride makes standard, medium, and heavy duty cutters just like Bush Hog and Woods. One advantage is that Kubota can finance them at great rates. I run a Brown and would put it as good as anything else out there including Schulte ???, Rhino, etc...You MX I'd a good match for a medium duty 6 foot cutter. I pull my 472 Brown effortlessly with either my Ford 4610 SU or New Holland Workmaster 50. It weighs 1100# in a 6 foot cutter with a 120 HP gearbox. It is an excellent cutter.

I have had 4 LP cutters. A 2660, a 1872, a 2672, and a 2684. Only one i dont have anymore is the 2660 and thats just because i wanted a 2672 so i sold the 60. All have done well and get well used.

The 26 series is a tough and heavy cutter. I would put them up against bush hog branded cutters. Always ck the cut capacity on any rotary mower to compare apples to apples. With a 26 series if no FEL you will need front weights in my experience.
I like the LP 24 mo no interest financing.

I've got a LandPride 2672. Rough, tough and cuts the grass around the cabin so nicely that I can't justify a Zero Turn Mower.

Am very happy with it.
