Finally got an FDR1660 Landpride finish (grooming) mower and love it. It came standard with the medium lift blades and it does mow nicely. My dealer told me if I liked the standard blades, I would really like the high lift blades. I ordered a set of the high lift blades which will be in next week. I was wondering though if I'll lose hp or mowing speed with the high lift blades. I also ordered the optional front roller as I do have a few uneven spots down in the bottom. As always I appreciate the advice.

From what I've read, the high lift blades are great only if you don't have sandy soil. If you are using high lift where dirt and large amounts of sand will get sucked up, you are kinda sandblasting your blades and the underside of the housing. :eek:

I am getting the same mower in about two weeks and I'm a little nervous about the standard blades sucking up all my land. My soil type is mostly the sahara desert with weeds. The weeds are green so I mow them.
