landini 8865 price/recommendation?

looking at 4 wd tractors, see my post on kubota vs Zetor. looked at and liked the solidly built Landini 8865 evolution. will take in woods for Katrina cleanup so 4 post canopy nice, can add some limb screens. with fel bucket and added grapple dealer gave me price of $34,650 (25,600 just tractor). has big radial tractor tires, tie rods behind front axles, but 81 hp vs 85 on Kubota 8540 . wieght is 6923 vs 5400 lb for Kubota. price on K 8540 with fel and grapple $35,700. I just don't know much about Landini. any feedback on Landini purchasers or these prices appreciated. agh

Landini
1925-Present

Landini was born out of Giovanni Landini's machine shop. Landini had been building farm machinery since 1884, and had been building steam and internal-combustion engines prior to World War One. Landini's sons carried on the business, building their first tractor in 1925 using a hot-bulb diesel engine. Their tractors became very popular, and Landini was the leading Italian tractor manufacturer prior to World War Two. Landini resumed production after the war, but the primitive diesels were no longer popular. Landini survived by licensing Perkins engines in the 1950s, and was acquired by Massey-Ferguson in 1959. Argo SpA acquired Landini in 1994.

All things being equal,if I was going to use the tractor in rougher situations I'd take the Landini's fwd system over the Kubota.

Neighbor has a 65 hp one,bought used. Never needed anything in the 5 years he's had it. I've used it to pick up bales,and spread fertilizer. Decent tractor for it's size and cost. Plenty of the MF badged ones around,even some of the old 184-4 ones still in use. Always been a Landini Dealer around here. Massey Dealers sells them now. ARGO owns Landini,along with McCormick,Valpanada.
