This deal looks too good to be true. Maybe the owner stumped his toe on this unit? Is there anything I should know about this model? So far everything that has come up has been very positive.I need advice or confirmation on the purchase of a Land Pride RTA2555 rototiller.
I was looking at every make from Agric to KingKutter. Then I stopped by my local New Holland dealer to admire their inventory and nearly tripped over a 55” RTA2555 heavy duty Land Pride rototiller. The list price on this is about $2800. This unit had been sitting around and he general manager of the dealership just wanted to unload it. In addition to $1800, he will let me pay $1795 down payment and take delivery, and more importantly ownership and receipt, January 2003. Delivery and setup $30. Full warranty included.
My Kubota and John Deere dealers both choked at the price and recommended I purchase it.
Please let me know your thoughts soon because this unit is going to look great on my L3010!
Thank you.

I bought the King Kutter at Tsc last spring in 60in for $999, is that tiller that much better?

Dumbdog, how do you like your kingkutter rotiller. I am in the market for a rototiller. I sure like the price you paid. So far the only new rototiller i looked at is a Howse tiller for around 1,200 dollars. Talked with a buddy who has one and did not seem to be too satified with his. Maybe he does not know how to operate it. Are they any good. Does anyone know of a good brand name at a good decent price. I plan on buying one in the very near future. Could anyone give me any input on any brand model. Would appreciate any advice.

First of all, my tractor is only 24hp at the pto.

It does a fine job, tilled up stuff that I doubt has ever been broken up before, the soil is good bottomland with lots of clay. Last spring when I broke up the soil, I did the tilling in three passes in order to do a better job. This fall I tilled some more that I had not done this spring, set the cruise for a real slow speed and low range and after I went through it, the soil looked like a table top.

Can highly recommend this tiller.

KingKutter is available down the street and certainly is more affordable. I know people like yourself who have been very happy with KingKutter products. I personally think they have a better paint job then Land Pride-but who doesn't?
This LandPride model is supposed to be their heaviest grade, and the cost reflects this fact.
Thank you for your input!

That is a bargin for that LP tiller. Last spring I gave $2500 for a LP 2570

How does it work for your application?

Dog, that particular tiller is much better than a king kutter tiller. I have seen countless #s of light duty tillers try to fill in for a heavy duty application and they die quickly. I have yet to see any tiller brand beat out a Howard for dependability and quality. I however did see a crew tear up 2 howard units right in a row due to conditions that weren't favaorably to a D-9 Cat. Remember, the heavier it is, usually the better it is.
