Land Pride Rear blade customized

The last snow we had I broke my cheap KK blade. It broke a weld on the pivot point and twisted the frame. not worth the effort.
I bought a new heavyer blade and put my hyd cylinder on this one to. I had to used linkage to make it work this time around.

I like the set up you have.

I noticed parts are painted black and parts are painted Landpride tan. Did you fabricate that linkage yourself? Do you have a "before" picture so we can see what it originally looked like?

Re: Land Pride Rear blade customized

I painted the linkage parts with a black spray paint and the LP paint was done with a brush. Black easyer and quicker to.
I made all the parts for the linkage and used 1" pins for pivot points. I all so had to lower the bottom pins 6" so my 4400 would lift it high enough. this blade is meant for a bigger tractor. No before pic's.

Re: Land Pride Rear blade customized

When you have it in full swing how close does it come to touching your rear tire? Nice job on adding the hydraulics.

It will not hit the tire. Before I lowered the bottom pins I could swing it 360 degrees, it cleared 8" to 10"

Dana, looks like you are talented in the metal working skills as well as the woodworking. Nice outfit. Adding top and tilt , would put you in the cat bird seat. I have a hilly driveway (gravel) to maintain...and try to keep it crowned in the middle, sloping off to an inside ditch. I have to manually adjust my drawbar to get the right angle that I need for controlling the water. I dream of the hydraulic links, and lift arms. Maybe someday.

Re: Land Pride Rear blade customized

I was wondering about tilt.

I have the materials and parts for making a dozer blade for my skid steer. It has two remotes, one wide open high flow and the other, foot operated low flow.

What has kept me from making the dozer attachment is I haven't figured out how to do tilt and twist with just one remote, the low flow one. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I agree with you on his installation. It does look like it's done right and well.

Re: Land Pride Rear blade customized

Your RB w/ hydraulics looks great, nice job. Your project and pictures have rejuvinated a recent idea I had for myself.
After seeing yours, I want to do mine even more.
I am going to convert my LP72 rake into a hydraulic angling rake by using the angling rams ( if possible ) from my Fisher snowplow. The design and application as I figure it in my head doesn't seem to difficult. I will just mimic what the did with the plow. After all. I am merely asking the rams to perform the vary same task. It will just be behind me and not in front of me.
If my idea is succesful, I can use the hydraulic rams on the plow during the winter and then just shift them over to the rake for warm weather.
Thanks for the pics and the post. I now have my spring project. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Well ok, Another spring project !!! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Re: Land Pride Rear blade customized

Thanks guys,
For the record I only have hyd top link, no tilt. I only have two remotes on the back. The two for the front are used for loader or snow blade.

Re: Land Pride Rear blade customized

Harv Im using a solenoid valve from Surplus Center to make a friends grapple bucket i built work on his new tractor. It was 149 dollars there. You could make your auxhilary run one function all the itme thats the most importan. For a dozer blade the lift and the tilt. Im taking youll use the boom to lift the blade. The secondary funtion the angle would be best done with the solenoid valve and switch since its the least used. It just tee's off the line to the main function and diverts the flow to the extra cylinder when used. Thats usually the best way to get 2 functions from one 2 way valve. Take care Taylor Lambert
